Regeneration is metal sculpture representing energy being drawn from the tree and returned to earth. The sculpture is free standing with three metal treatments. Some areas are painted, polished or will rust over time. The tree is a natural element in a throne like sphere made from rebar.
The free standing structure was formed by bending rebar into leg like forms. Each leg makes it way into a polished pipe before re-appearing to support the tree. The rebar then circles the tree in a spiral motion as if it’s being supporting in air as the living matter from the tree is being extracted. The copper wire representing the energy appears to have a black matter oozing at the connection points. This matter is what remains or the tree after the transformation.
